Pool Area Updates

7/12/2026
Dear Silverleaf Residents,

Since the fire, the Board has been working to stabilize the situation and begin the recovery process. Here are the steps that have been completed so far:

• The pool has been professionally deep cleaned.
• A protective cover has been installed to prevent ash and debris from entering the pool.
• The pool area has been secured to prevent access to the damaged structure.
• An insurance claim has been filed with our carrier.
• Our insurance adjuster is scheduled to inspect the property on Monday, which will officially begin the claims process.

Unfortunately, the pool house has been determined to be a total loss and will need to be demolished and rebuilt.

The damage extends well beyond the building itself. The pool house contained the pumps, filters, and other mechanical equipment required to operate the pool, and that equipment was destroyed in the fire. In addition, because Silverleaf operates a public swimming pool, we must comply with South Carolina DHEC regulations. Required facilities such as restrooms, drinking fountains, and emergency communication equipment must be available before the pool can legally reopen.
After evaluating the extent of the damage and the work required to restore these critical systems, it has become clear that the pool will not reopen for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The Board has already begun obtaining quotes from qualified contractors to demolish the damaged structure and remove the safety hazard. We are also working closely with our insurance company to move the rebuilding process forward as quickly as possible.
We understand this is disappointing news, especially during the height of summer. Please know that the Board is committed to moving this process forward as efficiently as possible while ensuring the work is completed safely, properly, and in compliance with all applicable requirements.

We will continue to provide updates as significant milestones are reached.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we work through this process.
